While the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present little or zero threat, several dozen are linked with severe medical problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.
