Though many chemicals in beauty products present minimal or no risk, dozens are linked with serious medical problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other common items.
