While the majority of chemicals in beauty products present little or no threat, dozens are associated to serious medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and lots of other common products.
