Though most chemicals in cosmetics pose hardly any or zero risk, several dozen have been associated with substantial health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.
