Although many chemicals in cosmetics pose little or no risk, several are linked to significant health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in food and several other ordinary products.
