While most chemicals in beauty products pose hardly any or no threat, several dozen have been associated to serious medical issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and several other commonly used goods.
