While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present minimal or zero threat, dozens have been linked to significant health problems, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and several other commonly used products.
