Chemicals in cosmetics get into a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used items. Yet, no type of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics, including Eye Inks.
