Though many chemicals in beauty products present very little or no risk, several are associated to severe health problems, such as neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food and several other common products. Still, no classification of consumer products is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Santa's Christmas shower cream.
