Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present little or absolutely no threat, several are linked to significant health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.
