Although most chemicals in beauty products pose little or no danger, several dozen have been linked with serious medical issues, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other commonly used goods. But, no sector of consumer goods is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 20. Although many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly present very little risk, exposure to a few is linked to major health disorders, including cancer.
