While most chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or zero threat, several are linked with substantial medical issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin and inhalation, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and many other everyday items. Yet, no classification of consumer items is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including blusher 02 (my duo) - part 2.
