Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose hardly any or no danger, some have been associated to serious health issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other everyday items. But, no group of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 1. Although many of the chemicals in cosmetics most likely present very little risk, subjection to a few is linked to significant health problems, including cancer.
