Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products present very little or zero risk, some have been associated with severe medical conditions, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other everyday items.
