While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose slight or no risk, several dozen are associated to considerable health issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to the body through the skin and inhalation, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other ordinary goods. Yet, no area of consumer goods is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 7.
