Though many chemicals in cosmetics pose very little or no risk, some have been associated to significant medical conditions, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and cause the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in food, water, and a lot of other ordinary items. But, no area of consumer items is susceptible to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 11.
