Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or no danger, several are linked to serious medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and various other everyday goods. But, no group of consumer goods is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 14. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics most likely present minimal risk, subjection to some has been associated with significant health concerns, including cancer.
