While the majority of chemicals in beauty products pose limited or zero danger, several dozen are linked to significant medical problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to your body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and several other commonly used products. But, no group of consumer products is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 14. While many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics most likely pose little risk, your exposure to a few is associated with critical health conditions, including cancer.
