While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or zero danger, some have been associated to significant medical problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and many other ordinary items. Yet, no category of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my blusher 11.
