Although most chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or no danger, some have been linked to considerable medical issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and many other commonly used products. Yet, no category of consumer products is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics, including my blusher 11.
