Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and many other everyday goods. Yet, no sector of consumer goods is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 15.
