Although most chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or zero risk, several dozen have been linked with serious health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and many other everyday products. But, no sector of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including my blusher (cream) 4. While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products most likely present minimal risk, being exposed to a few has been linked to major health concerns, including cancer.
