While most chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been linked to significant health problems, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and several other commonly used items. Still, no group of consumer items is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my blusher (cream) 5. While most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics most likely pose little risk, exposure to a few is associated with worrying health issues, including cancer.
