While the majority of chemicals in cosmetics pose minimal or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been linked to severe medical problems, such as neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and many other commonly used goods.
