Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present very little or zero danger, several are associated to considerable health issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics get into a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and several other common goods. Yet, no category of consumer goods is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 22.
