Although the majority of chemicals in beauty products present slight or absolutely no danger, several have been linked to severe medical problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and many other commonly used products. However, no area of consumer products is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 22. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products in all likelihood present little risk, exposure to a few has been associated with serious health issues, including cancer.
