Though the majority of chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or absolutely no risk, several are associated with significant medical conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in water, food, and various other common items. Yet, no kind of consumer items is accountable to less government management than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 28.
