While most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or absolutely no danger, several dozen are associated with substantial medical conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other commonly used items.
