Although many chemicals in beauty products pose little or absolutely no threat, some have been associated with severe health problems, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and many other commonly used goods. Still, no type of consumer goods is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 32.
