While most chemicals in beauty products pose slight or no risk, several have been associated to significant medical problems, such as neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and lots of other ordinary items. Still, no group of consumer items is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 33. Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products most likely present very little risk, exposure to a few is linked to worrying health conditions, including cancer.
