Though most chemicals in beauty products pose hardly any or zero danger, several have been associated with considerable medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and lots of other everyday products. However, no category of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 35. Although most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics most likely present very little risk, being exposed to some has been associated with significant health conditions, such as cancer.
