While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose limited or no danger, dozens are associated with severe health conditions, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter your body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other everyday products. However, no area of consumer products is subject to less government management than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 35. While most of the chemicals in cosmetics very likely present little risk, exposure to some is associated with critical health conditions, including cancer.
