Although most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present slight or absolutely no danger, some have been associated to significant health problems, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other common products. Still, no sector of consumer products is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (shimmer) 36. Although many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics likely pose minimal risk, subjection to a few is associated with significant health issues, such as cancer.
