Though most chemicals in cosmetics present very little or absolutely no danger, dozens have been linked with significant health issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in water, food, and many other commonly used items. Still, no area of consumer items is accountable to less government management than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (eye primer). While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products in all likelihood pose little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with critical health issues, including cancer.
