Though many chemicals in beauty products pose slight or no danger, several dozen have been associated with serious health conditions, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals can enter the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and several other common items. Yet, no area of consumer items is subject to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (matte) 3.
