Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetics pose little or zero danger, several dozen have been linked with substantial health conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and cause similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and various other common items. Yet, no sector of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 11. Though most of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics most likely present minimal risk, exposure to a few has been associated with significant health concerns, such as cancer.
