Although the majority of chemicals in cosmetics present very little or zero danger, several dozen have been linked to serious health problems, including neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and lead to similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in water, food, and lots of other common goods. Yet, no category of consumer goods is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 14. Although most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products almost certainly pose very little risk, subjection to some is associated with critical health disorders, including cancer.
