While many chemicals in cosmetics present little or zero risk, several dozen have been associated to considerable health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter your body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and many other commonly used products. But, no type of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 23. Although most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics in all likelihood present minimal risk, subjection to a few is linked to major health concerns, including cancer.
