While many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or no danger, several have been associated to substantial medical issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals can enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and cause similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food and many other ordinary goods. However, no area of consumer goods is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (matte) 24.
