Though many chemicals in cosmetic products pose minimal or no threat, some are linked to significant medical conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics invade the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and various other ordinary items. However, no kind of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 24. While many of the chemicals in cosmetics probably pose minimal risk, subjection to a few has been linked to critical health problems, including cancer.
