Although most chemicals in cosmetics pose hardly any or absolutely no risk, several have been linked to serious medical issues, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and lead to similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in food and many other commonly used products. Still, no group of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (matte) 25.
