Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products pose minimal or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been associated to considerable health problems, such as developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics can enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and cause the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and lots of other everyday items. Still, no sector of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 28. Though many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics in all likelihood pose very little risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with worrying health issues, including cancer.
