While many chemicals in beauty products pose limited or zero risk, dozens are linked with serious medical issues, including cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals invade your body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food and several other commonly used products. Still, no category of consumer products is subject to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 29. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics probably pose very little risk, subjection to a few has been associated with significant health concerns, such as cancer.
