Although most chemicals in cosmetics present minimal or absolutely no risk, some have been associated to substantial medical issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food and various other ordinary items. Yet, no type of consumer items is accountable to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (matte) 30.
