Though most chemicals in cosmetic products present slight or no danger, dozens are associated to substantial health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through inhalation, the skin, and ingestion, and pose similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other ordinary items. But, no sector of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (matte) 32.
