Although most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or no danger, some are associated to significant health issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals get into the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and pose the same risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other common items. However, no kind of consumer items is susceptible to less government inspection than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (matte) 32. Though most of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics very likely pose little risk, being exposed to some is associated with serious health disorders, including cancer.
