Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose very little or zero danger, dozens are linked with considerable health problems, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and a lot of other everyday items. Yet, no category of consumer items is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 1.
