Though most chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or absolutely no danger, some have been associated to serious medical issues, including developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and lead to similar problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in food and several other commonly used items. Still, no type of consumer items is susceptible to less government management than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 6. While most of the chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products very likely pose very little risk, being exposed to a few has been linked to significant health conditions, including cancer.
