Though the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics pose hardly any or no danger, several are linked to serious health conditions, such as developmental delays and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in food, water, and several other ordinary items. But, no kind of consumer items is subject to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 10.
