Though many chemicals in beauty products pose little or no danger, several have been linked with considerable health issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and many other commonly used items. Yet, no group of consumer items is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 10. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products most likely present little risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with major health concerns, such as cancer.
