While many chemicals in beauty products present limited or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been associated to considerable health conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics gain entry to the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and pose similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and lots of other ordinary items. However, no kind of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 12. Although many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics very likely pose very little risk, being exposed to a few has been associated with substantial health issues, including cancer.
