While most chemicals in cosmetics present very little or zero danger, dozens are linked to significant medical conditions, including cancer, and neurological harm. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and pose similar dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer are found in water, food, and several other ordinary items. Yet, no group of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 12. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products likely pose little risk, being exposed to a few is linked to worrying health issues, including cancer.
