Though many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present limited or absolutely no risk, several dozen have been associated to severe health issues, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals enter a person's body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same dangers as food chemicals, per this site.

Contaminants and chemicals linked to cancer can be found in water, food, and a lot of other commonly used items. Yet, no category of consumer items is accountable to less government inspection than cosmetics and other personal care products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 15. While many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics and personal care products most likely present very little risk, subjection to a few has been linked to serious health conditions, including cancer.
