Although many chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present little or zero danger, several are associated with serious health problems, including neurological harm and cancer. Cosmetic chemicals invade a person's body through internal use, the skin, and inhalation, and cause the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and various other everyday items. Still, no category of consumer items is susceptible to less government direction than cosmetics and other personal products, including my eyeshadow (glitter) 16. Though many of the chemicals and contaminants in cosmetics very likely present little risk, being exposed to a few is associated with serious health concerns, including cancer.
