Although most chemicals in cosmetic products present limited or zero danger, dozens are associated with serious medical conditions, including developmental delays and cancer. Chemicals in cosmetics enter a person's body through inhalation, ingestion, and the skin, and cause similar risks as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer can be found in food, water, and a lot of other everyday items.
