While most chemicals in cosmetic products present very little or zero threat, some are linked to substantial health issues, such as cancer, reproductive and neurological harm, and developmental delays. Cosmetic chemicals gain entry to a person's body through the skin and inhalation, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer are found in water, food, and a lot of other common goods. But, no area of consumer goods is accountable to less government oversight than cosmetics, including Foundation. While many of the contaminants and chemicals in cosmetics and personal care products probably pose very little risk, subjection to some is associated with worrying health disorders, including cancer.
