While most chemicals in cosmetics present very little or zero risk, dozens have been linked with severe medical issues, including cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics enter the body through ingestion, inhalation, and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals and contaminants associated with cancer can be found in water, food, and lots of other everyday goods.
