While the majority of chemicals in beauty products and cosmetics present limited or no risk, several dozen have been linked to significant health problems, such as cancer, and neurological harm. Chemicals in cosmetics get into the body through the skin, inhalation, ingestion and internal use, and lead to the same problems as food chemicals, per this site.

Chemicals associated with cancer are found in food, water, and several other commonly used goods.
